LightShine Designs Jewelry & Photography Review {Plus a Giveaway!}

Recently, I was given the opportunity to sample some products from LightShine Designs Jewelry & Photography.

LightShine Designs Jewelry & Photography offers, "beautiful jewelry ranging in style from vintage, steampunk, to soft and feminine. LightShine Designs specializes in creating and selling beautiful handmade jewelry, accessories, artwork, as well as photography. [The owner enjoys] taking ordinary pieces and turning them into one of a kind pieces of art. [Her] motto is, 'Live, and breathe beauty.' Beauty can be found everyday in the most unsuspecting of places, all you have to do is be open to it and look."

It was such a nice surprise when Rebecca Mincey, owner of LightShine Designs, offered to let me review some of the products she sells. She sent me her Handcrafted Silver-Plated "Time Flies" Jewelry Set featuring Swarovski Crystals. The necklace is 18" long with a lobster clasp, and the earrings are on silver-plated hooks. It is just a beautiful set! Rebecca even took care to send the set to me in an anti-tarnish bag.

You can see from the photography that Rebecca is also a very skilled photographer. Her work is beautiful, and displays her jewelry art so nicely.

The necklace features the most whimsical clock, almost reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. The numbers are wonky and fun, lending such a young feel to it. In front of the clock dangle two dainty wings, hence the jewelry set's name, "Time Flies." This is clever and beautiful at the same time. Above the clock and wings are a sweet collection of crystals and silver beads, making the necklace even more pretty. The necklace is a great length, as the chain is 18", but with the added length of the charms, it lays perfectly around my mid-chest area. I love this necklace so much that I have worn it nearly every day since I received it.

The earrings make me positively giddy. Anyone who knows me is aware that I adore everything related to birds. My home is decked out in bird decor in just about every room. The earrings measure 3" from the top of the earring hook to the bottom of the bird. And the crystals and silver beads above the bird mirror those on the necklace. Here, Rebecca tells us a little bit about herself.

"My name is Rebecca. I am a 25 year old who resides near Myrtle Beach, SC. I am a certified paralegal, and graduated from college in 2010 (not currently working in the field). I started my handcrafted jewelry and photography business in January 2011. I am the owner and sole employee. My boyfriend thought it would be neat for me to try and wire wrap the stones which he and I have mined over the years in North Carolina. After wrapping a few, I was hooked. It wasn't long after that I decided to expand to other jewelry, and accessories.

I have had a passion for photography since I was just entering my twenties. I absolutely love nature, creating beautiful things out of odds and ends, and bringing out joy in others as well as myself. I also write poetry occassionally, some of which is featured in the notes section of my business facebook page. I also have a passion for antiques, vintage, and peculiar items; occassionally some are featured for sale in my shop (currently 3). I welcome custom orders!

LightShine Designs, LSD, focuses on handcrafted jewelry design and creation ranging in style from vintage, steampunk, to soft and feminine. LSD also has a vast variety of photography print albums filled with all kinds of amazing natural views. Beauty is everywhere and my business specializes in making jewelry and accessories that help everyone to shine in their own unique way.

I personally mine almost all the gemstones and minerals used in my jewelry at a mine in North Carolina. The shells I use were all found on the South Carolina coastline.

I plan on creating charity pieces soon which the proceeds of which will go to the separate causes each symbolizes."
